Cleanings

The initial stage in maintaining optimal tooth health

Leaving the dental Clinic with a fresh, rejuvenated smile is a unique and satisfying experience. Our thorough hygiene session aims to provide a complete refreshment for your mouth, including meticulous cleaning, scaling, and polishing, along with valuable guidance and support for your oral care needs.

What is cleaning?

Cleaning, also known as scaling is a dental procedure where your dentist meticulously removes all plaque and tartar, which is hardened plaque, from both above and below the gumline. This thorough cleaning extends to the bottom of the gingival pocket. During this process at Empire Dental Clinic, our team not only ensures the cleanliness of your teeth but also assesses your dental cavities and the balance of your bite. An imbalanced bite can result in tooth trauma, gum recession, inefficient chewing, and jaw discomfort. While cleaning your teeth, we engage in a discussion about how to address any tooth cavities before they worsen and how your bite might be impacting your overall health. Additionally, we provide a personalized self-care regimen, offering tips and tricks to maintain a bright and healthy smile for years to come.

Periodontal Treatment

Our services are tailored for individuals requiring advanced treatment for periodontitis and gingivitis. At our clinic, we specialize in state-of-the-art laser therapy for periodontitis, particularly in cases where patients exhibit symptoms such as loose teeth, gum bleeding, and deep pockets in the gingiva.

Kids Dentistry / Paediatric Dentistry

To promote exceptional oral hygiene and overall health in your child, it is advisable to schedule their first dental visit either at the age of one or within six months after their first tooth emerges.

When is it important to start my child’s dentist visits ;

It’s typically advised that your child’s first dental visit takes place around age one or within six months of their first tooth emerging. Nevertheless, if your child experiences any dental issues stemming from disease, injury, or developmental concerns, immediate attention and evaluation are essential.

As a Parent;

You can initiate early oral care by using a soft cloth to clean your child’s gums, starting as early as a few days after birth and continuing until their first teeth emerge. Additionally, it’s advisable to avoid sharing spoons, forks, or other utensils between parents or caregivers and the child, as the other person’s saliva may contain bacteria that can lead to tooth decay. Even something as simple as kissing can transmit these bacteria. Ensuring that all family members and close contacts practice proper oral health and hygiene can help reduce the risk of passing on these harmful bacteria to the child.

Promoting a straight and healthy smile right from the beginning;

At Empire Dental Clinic, we are committed to providing you and your child with the necessary information and support to nurture a healthy smile. If you observe any concerning habits such as mouth breathing, snoring, crowded or misaligned teeth, or issues with jaw development, rest assured that we are here to assist you.

Screening

Have confidence in receiving the finest dental care, both today and in the future.

Oral cancer screenings conducted by dental professionals play a crucial role in early cancer detection through the identification of abnormal tissues or signs. This proactive approach ensures that potential issues are addressed today, safeguarding more smiles for tomorrow.

The importance of regular screenings;

Beyond the focus on early diagnosis, oral cancer screenings also provide an opportunity for you to address any concerns you may have. Our team is readily available to offer guidance on preventive measures and strategies to reduce risk. Whether during an examination or at any other time, please feel free to reach out to our staff with any questions or concerns. Rest assured, we are here to assist you every step of the way.

During Screening;

During an oral screening, our initial steps involve observing for signs like bumps, swelling, discoloration, ulcerations, lack of symmetry, or any other unusual features. It’s important to understand that oral cancer screenings are primarily precautionary and not conclusive diagnostics. While there may be no abnormalities detected during a visit, individuals with certain risk factors like tobacco use or alcohol consumption may be advised to return for regular screenings. Importantly, the presence of something noted during an oral cancer screening does not automatically imply that the patient has oral cancer.

Consultations & Examinations

Comprehensive oral examinations can provide valuable insights into overall systemic health

A dental assessment allows our team to assess your overall oral health and hygiene comprehensively. Dental checkups provide an ideal opportunity to address concerns and explore factors that may impact the well-being of your teeth, jaw, and gums.

It’s a thorough and comprehensive examination

Our comprehensive dental examination allows Dr. Wenura to thoroughly assess your overall oral health and hygiene. During this examination, we can identify and discuss any factors that may influence the well-being of your teeth, jaw, gums, bones, and more. It’s important to recognize that oral health is interconnected with overall bodily health, making regular dental check-ups essential for holistic well-being.

Its so important

The frequency of dental visits, typically every six months, depends on the severity of any dental issues you may have. These examinations serve to assess the need for any necessary dental procedures and can also uncover significant medical conditions like vitamin deficiencies, oral cancers, diabetes, and joint/muscle problems. Regular check-ups ensure that these issues are detected at their earliest, most treatable stages or even before they fully manifest, enabling the implementation of preventive measures.
