Bridges can be made from alloys, porcelain, zirconia or combination of these materials and are attached to surrounding teeth for support.
When talking about bridges, your dental surgeon may use these terms’
• Pontic – The replacement for the missing tooth.
• Crown – A ‘’cap’’ that covers the attached tooth. (retainer crown) During one or few follow-up visits, the bridge is fitted, adjusted and cemented in place.
